Lucky Generals & Tin Man win EDF UK brief as it looks to create a new long-term brand platform

Lucky Generals & Tin Man have been appointed as the brand creative & PR agencies, respectively, for EDF UK following a competitive pitch run by the AAR.

The agencies pitched in partnership following their successful collaboration on Virgin Atlantic, which they have been working on together for more than two years.

They will launch a bold new long-term creative platform for EDF in the UK that will see the energy supplier offering its customers a meaningful alternative in a market which is becoming increasingly competitive. The new platform will bring to life EDF’s leading role in providing low-carbon nuclear and renewable energy, alongside how it is making energy simpler, cleaner and cheaper for its customers.

EDF is the biggest generator of zero-carbon electricity in the UK, having invested billions in building new energy generation, in particular nuclear power. The company is doing more than other energy providers to fix the energy system and invested £2 back into its UK operation for every £1 profit over the past three years. It currently employs over 10,000 people in the UK.

EDF chose Lucky Generals & Tin Man because of their experience in communicating powerful, engaging messages and creating imaginative platforms for long-term campaigns.

Diana Bowden, Sales and Marketing Director at EDF, said: “We are delighted to start our long-term relationship with Lucky Generals and Tin Man as we look to utilise their expertise to help bring customers with us on our journey towards supporting the country achieve net zero.”

Cressida Holmes-Smith at Lucky Generals said: “People want change from energy suppliers and understandably think they’re all the same - EDF is the only company creating meaningful change through energy generation, building a sustainable future. We’re thrilled to be a part of that journey.”

Mandy Sharp, CEO and Founder from Tin Man, said: “Tin Man and Lucky Generals have worked together for a long time and very successfully, delivering high impact, emotionally-engaging, brand-building campaigns. We’re delighted to bring our own combination of strategic creativity and Communications with Heart to the energy sector for EDF.”
